Background of the Study
Security infrastructure is a crucial determinant of socio-economic stability in any region. In Sokoto South Local Government Area (LGA) of Sokoto State, security challenges, including insurgency, banditry, and communal conflicts, are exacerbated by complex geopolitical dynamics. The role of local governance and political affiliations in shaping security policies has been a topic of growing interest, with many arguing that regional power struggles impact the allocation of resources for security infrastructure. This study will investigate how these geopolitical factors influence the design and implementation of security infrastructure in Sokoto South LGA, focusing on how the regional political landscape affects the safety and stability of communities.
1.2 Statement of the Problem
Sokoto South LGA, like many regions in Nigeria, has struggled with inadequate security infrastructure, which undermines economic activities and threatens public safety.
